Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company - Chipolbrok, was established
in 1951 by the governments of the People's Republic of China and
the Republic of Poland. It is the first foreign-invested joint venture
registered in China after 1949.
Having been performing Asia-Europe break bulk liner service since
1951, Chipolbrok has accumulated rich experience in transportation
of big numbers and all sorts of complex cargo, oversized pieces
and heavy lifts such as complete sets of factory equipment for key
national projects of China like Shanxi Shentou Power Plant, Gezhou
Dam and Bao Steel etc. Besides, Chipolbrok has independently and
successfully completed the carriage of all metro wagons for Shanghai
and Guangzhou from Hamburg, which fully evidenced the Company's
outstanding ability in breakbulk, especially heavy lifts transportation.
In 1999, Chipolbrok passed the external audit of ISMC exercised
by the Maritime Safety Administration of P.R.C & LIoyd's Register
of Shipping and achieved DOC issued by the Governments of Flag States.
In the same year, Chipolbrok was awarded "CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL"
issued by the LIoyd's Register Quality Assurance, certifying that
the Company's Quality Management System is in line with the standard
of ISO 9001:2000.
Entering into the 21st century, Chipolbrok makes great efforts in
achieving the strategic change from "regional traditional breakbulk
cargo carrier" to "global professional heavy lift and
project cargo carrier ". On the basis of consolidating the
traditional Asia/Europe liner, Chipolbrok have developed US Gulf,
Persian Gulf routes successfully and extended the new market of
India, Korea and Japan etc., establishing the primary global liner
of heavy lift and project cargo transportation. Today, Chipolbrok
owns a fleet of 20 modern multi-purpose vessels sailing across oceans
between Asia, Europe, America and Africa. The overall tonnage is
nearly 500,000 DWT. Sinces November 2009, six newbuildings of 30,000
DWT with crane of max 640 tons lifting capacity are scheduled to
be put into operation in the fleet of Chipolbrok global liner. Besides
the Head Office and the Branch Office, which locates in Shanghai
and Gdynia respectively, Chipolbrok has also set a wholly-owned
subsidiary in Houston and two joint-invested shipping agencies in
Rotterdam and Singapore. As well as the close-cooperation agencies
scattered about all enroute ports and main area, Chipolbrok has
established a vast and solid agent network. To provide better and
broader service, Chipolbrok based subsidiary companies in Shanghai
engaging in the fields of forwarding, shipping agency, container
depot & warehousing etc.
